Hi, I’m Maria Kahn.

Mindfulness has been the steady thread through my life for nearly thirty years. It’s the practice that helped me understand myself, see my patterns clearly, and move through stress and uncertainty with more clarity and calm.

For more than a decade, I’ve guided professionals, caregivers, leaders, parents, and individuals who looked “fine” on the outside but were carrying far more than anyone knew. What they discover is what I discovered: mindfulness creates the awareness and presence needed to understand your patterns and choose a more grounded way forward.

Clients often tell me they chose this work because they feel genuinely understood as if I can clearly see the patterns, pressures, and suffering they’ve carried for years. In many ways, I can. They sense something different in the way I teach: a blend of calm, clarity, and grounded care that makes the process feel safe, practical, and relatable.

Most of all, they appreciate feeling cared for, seen, and supported.

A steady guide who’s walked the path, and knows how to help you find your way forward.

Working Together

Gentle, grounded, and deeply human.

I guide students through many of life’s challenges, including chronic family and work stress, illness, trauma, grief, relationship loss, and the emotional strain experienced in caregiving roles, as well as anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm.

Our work together will begin with a discovery session to help me understand what challenges you are facing and why you are drawn to mindfulness practice. I’ll explain the nature of the practice, the commitment it asks of you, and the resources that will support you in the work ahead. Our work together focuses on your unique life circumstances.

Whether we work one-on-one, in a course, or through The ReGrounding Hour, you’ll be met with presence, care, and a pace that supports your nervous system rather than overwhelms it.

I walk beside you, offering guidance that is both practical and deeply grounded in lived experience.

The ReGrounding Hour

A New Chapter of My Work

The ReGrounding Hour grew from a desire to offer a restorative experience for people carrying chronic stress, burnout, or emotional heaviness. It combines sensory grounding, mindful awareness, and stillness in a space that feels safe, warm, and deeply supportive.

It’s not just a service, it’s a nervous system reset; an invitation to slow down, soften, and reconnect with yourself in a way that feels nourishing and sustainable. It is a wonderful compliment to a committed mindfulness practice.

Client Reflections

Words cannot express my profound gratitude to Maria Kahn, who has guided me through the practice of Mindfulness and changed my life. Her insight, compassion and professionalism have shown me a whole new way of embracing life and engaging in self-care. Working with Maria is truly one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever given myself.”

“Thank you for your continued guidance and support.  As I said in our last meeting, I’ve notice feelings of more “space” being created and a general sense of feeling less stressed.  After bottling up so much for so long, you have provided an incredible gift with this practice and I’m very grateful to you for working with me and sharing your insights and wisdom. Thank you!”

Background and Credentials

30 years of personal mindfulness practice

My mindfulness journey began in 1996 through study with my mentor and guide. Over the past three decades, mindfulness has remained my most trusted companion in navigating both personal and professional life.

15+ years teaching mindfulness worldwide

I have taught mindfulness practices to more than 1,000 students and have worked with organizations across Western New York and internationally.

My work includes developing the first mindfulness program for the Institute for Shipboard Education – Semester at Sea and guiding practice alongside teachers in China, Japan, India, Vietnam, and Burma.

Co-creator of the GRASP Method

In collaboration with Mary Jo Hardy, I co-developed the GRASP Method, a mindfulness-based self-leadership program that helps individuals and teams cultivate greater self-awareness and emotional regulation. These skills support clearer communication, stronger collaboration, and more fulfilling and effective work experiences.

Creator of The ReGrounding Hour

The ReGrounding Hour emerged from my own mindfulness practice and my understanding of the nervous system’s role in sustainable personal growth.
